With our accident and health insurance for cats and dogs, you enjoy customised cover for yourself and your beloved pets. So that you don’t have to decide against your four-legged friend’s welfare for financial reasons, we cover the medical expenses for your cat or dog in insured cases. Depending on the insurance model, this includes:

Depending on the insurance model, dental treatment in the event of accident or illness, complementary medicine (e.g. physiotherapy and osteopathy) and prevention are also covered, in addition to classic veterinary bills.

Among other things, the premium is dependent on the breed, gender and age of your pet and the benefits you choose. In the case of cats, it also depends on whether the animal is an indoor or outdoor cat.
No age limits
Allianz pet insurance for cats and dogs offers cover for all breeds and ages. Even pre-existing conditions can be included.
Premium without age adjustment and monthly right of cancellation
During the term of the contract, the premium does not increase as your four-legged friend ages. And if you aren’t happy with the benefits, you can cancel the insurance with effect from the end of the month at any time after the first year.
Simple reimbursement process
You can report visits to the vet easily and conveniently online. And to ensure that your household budget isn't put under too much strain, the costs of medical treatment will be reimbursed to you promptly.
Worldwide coverage
Do you take your pet on holiday with you? The insurance cover for the insured pet is valid worldwide as long as the treatment is provided by officially recognised vets at the applicable reference tariff.

Pre-existing conditions also covered
With our supplementary cover for pre-existing conditions, you can insure health problems that your pet already had before the start of the contract. Pre-existing conditions are defined as illnesses or accident-related injuries within the last 24 months.
Good to know:
there is a blocking period for costs connected to pre-existing conditions. This is three months before and one month after the start of the contract. Health problems that arise during this period are not covered.

No, pet insurance is not mandatory in Switzerland but it is highly recommended. In the event of illness or accident, veterinary costs can easily run into triple or quadruple figures.

No, you can only insure cats and dogs with Allianz pet insurance.
Our pet insurance offers cover for all dog and cat breeds irrespective of age. From eight-week-old puppies to elderly cats, there are no age limits.
Among other things, the insurance does not cover cosmetic surgery, visits to the vet during the grace and blocking period, pregnancy and infertility, and treatments not prescribed by a vet.
